Baseball Recap: Owosso Comes Up Short

Owosso came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Birch Run Panthers, falling 11-1. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Owosso saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Aquirre, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

The loss snapped Owosso's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record. As for Birch Run, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Owosso and Birch Run will both be playing Millington the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
