Baseball Game Preview: Sturgis West Navigators vs. Nantucket Whalers

Sturgis West is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home field against the Nantucket Whalers at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Nantucket is headed out to face a Navigators squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Sturgis West lost 14-6 to Atlantis on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Nantucket came up short against St. John Paul II on Wednesday, falling 15-2. That's two games in a row now that the Whalers have lost by exactly 13 runs.

Sturgis West was able to grind out a solid win over Nantucket when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Navigators repeat their success, or do the Whalers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
