Baseball Recap: Bear Creek Wins Going Away Against Chavez

Bear Creek's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Chavez Titans 15-1. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Bruins this season.

Jacob Ordez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Bear Creek got a massive performance out of Kevin Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Johnson posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February. Jaxson Bayani was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Bear Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Bear Creek's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Chavez, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Bear Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chavez: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
