Baseball Recap: Las Lomas' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Las Lomas dropped their record down to 10-9-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berean Christian Eagles. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 6-5 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Noah Sison was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jack Foscalina was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Berean Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

On Berean Christian's side, Joseph Angelo was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Angelo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Damon Neu, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zack Upshaw, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

While Las Lomas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
