Basketball Recap: Sandia's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sandia extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came out on top against the Centennial Hawks by a score of 59-50. The Matadors pushed the score to 53-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.

As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 1-2. They haven't had much luck with Sandia recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Centennial lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kennedy Maestas, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Perrault, who posted 11 points.

Coming up, Sandia will take on Artesia at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to square off against Rio Rancho at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
