Wellington won the last time they faced Weld Central and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rebels a 13-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Kensley Story was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of London Morgan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weld Central only posted an OBP of .353.
The victory made it two in a row for Wellington and bumps their season record up to 20-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Weld Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
