Football Game Preview: Don Bosco Prep Ironmen vs. Seton Hall Prep Pirates

Don Bosco Prep has gone 7-1 against Seton Hall Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on the 14th. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Don Bosco Prep will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Don Bosco Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: St. Peter's Prep, who was ranked fifth at the time (Don Bosco Prep was ranked first). The Ironmen were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the Marauders on Friday. The Ironmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Don Bosco Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ca'si Thomas, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Thomas has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Schoen, who threw for 156 yards and one TD while completing 90% of his passes.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 38 points the game before, Seton Hall Prep was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a blow against Bergen Catholic, falling 40-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Don Bosco Prep's record is now 9-0. As for Seton Hall Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Don Bosco Prep against Seton Hall Prep when the teams last played back in October, as the team secured a 40-7 win. Will the Ironmen repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
