Volleyball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Cherokee Trail Cougars + How To Watch

Eaglecrest is 2-8 against Cherokee Trail since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raptors will head out to challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Cherokee Trail took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Eaglecrest, who comes in off a win.

Eaglecrest took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Overland as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Raptors not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cherokee Trail and Cherry Creek meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Bruins.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cherry Creek scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21.

Cherokee Trail's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Eaglecrest, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Eaglecrest might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Cherokee Trail when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
