Nokomis is a perfect 3-0 against Meridian since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Redskins will look to defend their home field against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nokomis has three straight victories, Meridian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Nokomis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bunker Hill as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Nokomis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Keller, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Those five stolen bases gave Keller a new career-high. Blain Goodwin was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Meridian didn't have quite enough to beat Tuscola on Friday and fell 8-6.
Wyatt Martin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Ted Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dan Enlow, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Nokomis, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.
Nokomis came out on top in a nail-biter against Meridian when the teams last played back in May of 2022, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
