Football Recap: Salem Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The matchup between Salem Academy and Santiam Christian on Friday hardly resembled the 17-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Crusaders were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 47-14. The Crusaders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Taiki Kawamura threw for 90 yards on seven of 20 attempts.

A big part of Santiam Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Mason Ball and his top target Isaac Johnson. Ball picked up 28 receiving yards and one touchdown while Johnson rushed for 46 yards and one score. What's more, Johnson racked up 23 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Salem Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Santiam Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
