Recap: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. Northwestern Lehigh Tigers
The Pottsville Crimson Tide fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Tigers 64-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pottsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Alvarez, who scored 17 points. The game was Alvarez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Letrel Montone, who scored 15 points.
Pottsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northwestern Lehigh, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pottsville will be home for the holidays to greet Lehighton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lehighton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Northwestern Lehigh will be home for the holidays to greet Catasauqua at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Catasauqua comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
