Basketball Game Preview: Madison Bulldogs vs. Spruce Mountain Phoenix

The Madison Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Spruce Mountain Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Madison comes in on seven and Spruce Mountain on six.

Madison is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Lisbon to the tune of 70-22 on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Spruce Mountain got the win against Leavitt on Monday by a conclusive 59-34. The Phoenix have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Madison pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for Spruce Mountain, their record is now 13-1.

Madison came up short against Spruce Mountain in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 36-27. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
