Basketball Recap: Curtis Takes a Loss

Curtis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 47-33 bruising from the Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons.

Labrea Carter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Digital Pioneers Academy, dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of the Pythons' points. Another player making a difference was Summer Matthews, who shot 63% from the field on her way to 14 points.

Curtis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-9.

Curtis will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bergtraum at 4:30 p.m. on February 4. As for Digital Pioneers Academy, they and Truman will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday without much rest, having both just played.
