Softball Preview: Holden Eagles vs. Lexington Minutemen

Holden has gone 10-0 against Lexington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Holden Eagles will welcome the Lexington Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Holden will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Sherwood, who they hadn't topped in eight consecutive meetings. Holden never let Sherwood onto the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lexington waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Bobcats.

Amanda Rodekohr was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had since back in September of 2023. Elizabeth Day was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Lexington didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Holden and bumps their season record up to 13-10. As for Lexington, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
