Basketball Recap: Marshall Eagles vs. South El Monte Eagles
Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 55-39 to the South El Monte Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Marshall this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-37 last Thursday.
South El Monte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tony Aguilar, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Aguilar is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Oros, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for South El Monte, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-15.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Rosemead the next time they take the court. Marshall will host Rosemead at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while South El Monte will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
