Basketball Recap: Mount Pleasant Victorious

Mount Pleasant hadn't done well against South Rowan recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Mount Pleasant Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 win over the South Rowan Raiders. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

South Rowan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kynlee Dextraze, who posted nine points and six rebounds, and Avery Fisher, who had seven points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Mount Pleasant is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for South Rowan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will take on Porter Ridge in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th at. As for South Rowan, they will square off against Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something South Rowan surely won't give up without a fight.
