Baseball Game Preview: Robinson Maroons vs. Casey-Westfield Warriors

The Robinson Maroons will square off against the Casey-Westfield Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Robinson turned things around against South Knox on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Maroons have posted since May 6, 2024.

Reese Baker looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Brysen Legg was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Braylon Murray was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield won against Arthur-Okaw Christian on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] by a score of 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won six in a row.

Casey-Westfield now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Robinson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
