Basketball Recap: Bodine Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Bodine extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday, bumping them up to 8-3. They took down the Penn Treaty Wolves 79-65. The Ambassadors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bodine found their leader in freshman Mohammed Williams, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 26 points. Williams' afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Joshua Grimes was another key player, going 7-for-10 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds.

As for Penn Treaty, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jashun Washington, who posted 24 points. That was a full 36.9% of Penn Treaty's points, marking the 12th time in a row Washington has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davel Carr, who put up 15 points.

Coming up, Bodine will face off against Belmont Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ambassadors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Penn Treaty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sayre at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' defense better be ready for this one: the Sabres have averaged an impressive 60.2 points per game this season.
