Football Recap: Costa Mesa's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Costa Mesa and Yucca Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Costa Mesa had to settle for second. They lost 43-17 to the Trojans. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Yucca Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clyde King, who rushed for 156 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. King's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another pass catcher making a difference was Aiden Pope, who gained 160 total yards and three touchdowns.
