Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Osten Robertson, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. Robertson showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 50 yards. Vernon Benda was another key passer, throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Liberty, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. As for Jefferson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
