Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles East Fighting Saints vs. Oswego Panthers

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints will face off against the Oswego Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Charles East will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

St. Charles East is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-44 victory over Geneva. With the Fighting Saints ahead 47-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

St. Charles East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Corinne Reed out in front who went 8 for 10 on her way to 19 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Reed is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Schilb, who went 9 of 11 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Oswego faced off against Joliet West on Tuesday. Oswego strolled past Joliet West with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. The Panthers pushed the score to 66-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Charles East has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Oswego, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
