Soccer Recap: El Monte Comes Up Short

If El Monte was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of St. Anthony on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beckman Patriots on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to El Monte of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Leonardo Moreno and Miguel Vergel scored both of El Monte's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

El Monte now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. El Monte will challenge Bishop Amat at 5:15 p.m. on December 2. As for Beckman, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Tustin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
