Basketball Game Preview: Larimore Polar Bears vs. Warwick Warriors

The Larimore Polar Bears will square off against the Warwick Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row dating back to last season, Larimore turned things around against Sargent County on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 52-41.

Larimore found their leader in sophomore Baron Burns, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Burns a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Myers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Larimore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Warwick humbled Cavalier with an 89-53 victory.

Larimore's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Warwick, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Larimore beat Warwick 63-56 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Larimore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
