Basketball Game Preview: Spotsylvania Knights vs. Chancellor Chargers

Spotsylvania is 0-10 against Chancellor since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Spotsylvania Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Chancellor Chargers at 6:30 p.m.

Spotsylvania is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Wednesday. They were dealt an 87-30 loss at the hands of Culpeper County. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Chancellor came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 54-30 win. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Chancellor has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Spotsylvania, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Spotsylvania took a serious blow against Chancellor in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 55-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chancellor's Natalie Lanning, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals.
