Football Recap: Ridge Community Comes Up Short

Ridge Community extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were beaten by the East Ridge Knights 49-7. The Bolts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

When it comes to explaining why Ridge Community lost, don't look at Daniel James. Despite the final result, he picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

As for East Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.6 points on average this season.

A big part of East Ridge's victory came down to the chemistry between Karon Palmer Jr and his top target Lamar Garrison. Palmer Jr threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes while Garrison picked up 151 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Garrison's longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards. Another player making a difference was Daryl Ellis, who rushed for 76 yards and one score.

Ridge Community has already played their next matchup, a 38-7 win against George Jenkins on the 26th. As for East Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-7 victory against Celebration on the 26th.
