Mount Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Lansing Bobcats by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on 12 straight.
Gina O'Connell paced Mount Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. O'Connell got some help from Marion Winter and her 26 assists. Winter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Mount Academy's victory bumped their record up to 42-4-2. As for Lansing, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Mount Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Port Jefferson on the 21st. Lansing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
