Basketball Recap: Turner Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Turner entered their matchup against Wakeland on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Turner Lions lost 63-41 to the Wakeland Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 164th).

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Johnson, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Portillo, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Turner's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8. As for Wakeland, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reedy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 217 points over their last three games.
