Football Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

Leland fell victim to Pioneer and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Philip Arsintescu threw for 131 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. David Ahlgren was his top target, picking up 95 receiving yards. On the ground, Sam McFarland rushed for 57 yards.

Colton Bermillo was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 110 yards.

Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pioneer, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Leland will take on Lincoln at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pioneer, they will challenge Santa Teresa at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
