Football Recap: Magnolia Falls Short of Cypress Lakes in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Magnolia and Cypress Lakes squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Magnolia had to settle for second. They took a 21-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chase Lowery threw for 111 yards on 13 of 23 attempts. Carson Smith was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards.

Theodis Fields had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 91 yards and one TD for Cypress Lakes. The Spartans also got help from Cj Lewis, who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.

Magnolia's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Cypress Lakes, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Magnolia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cypress Lakes, they will challenge College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
