Softball Recap: Franklin's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Zion Christian Academy, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Centennial Cougars. The win was some much needed relief for the Admirals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Olivia Melinchar was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Morgan Bennett was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 3-17-1. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Franklin will head out to face off against Fairview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Admirals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Centennial, they will face off against Summit at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
