Basketball Recap: Reedy Has No Trouble Against Emerson

After losing to Emerson the last time they met, Reedy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions took down the Mavericks 59-43 on Monday. That looming 59-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Reedy had a senior duo take command as Joshua Johnson dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Kai Johnson went 6-for-13 on his way to 19 points. Those 11 boards set a new season-high mark for Joshua. Aaron Dudley also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Reedy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Emerson only posted seven.

Despite the loss, Emerson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camden Schulte posted 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah York, who scored nine points and five boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Reedy and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Emerson, they moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Reedy has already played their next contest, a 93-37 victory against Lebanon Trail on the 25th. As for Emerson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-61 loss against Martin on the 29th.
