Baseball Recap: St. Agnes Wins Going Away Against St. Croix Prep

St. Agnes's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the St. Croix Prep Lions. With that victory, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Danny Plamann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, St. Agnes let Greg Patros and Josh Lopez run wild. Patros went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Lopez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Lopez has posted since back in May of 2024. James Steiner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win snapped St. Agnes' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for St. Croix Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, St. Agnes will take on New Life Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Croix Prep, they will face off against Nova Classical Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
