Recap: Douglas County Huskies vs. Ralston Valley Mustangs
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Douglas County Huskies ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Ralston Valley 77-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Douglas County to victory were London Moore and Reilly Guerra. Moore scored 25 points, while Guerra scored 29 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Guerra has scored at least 25% of Douglas County's points. Roman Saiz was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Ralston Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caiden Braketa, who scored 21 points along with 5 assists. The match was Braketa's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Bahl, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
The victory (which was Douglas County's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Ralston Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Douglas County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cherry Creek at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Ralston Valley, they will be playing at home against Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Legacy is ranked 32nd, while Ralston Valley is ranked 33rd).
