Softball Recap: Point Pleasant Big Blacks vs. Wayne Pioneers
The third road game was the charm for Point Pleasant, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against the Wayne Pioneers by a score of 10-6 on Wednesday. The Big Blacks haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Rylann Macknight spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Point Pleasant got a big performance out of Kyla Queen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Queen a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Victoria Musser, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Queen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Point Pleasant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for the Big Blacks: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.8.
Point Pleasant now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wayne, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.
Looking ahead, Point Pleasant is taking a road trip to take on Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne, they will host Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
