            Volleyball Recap: Grand Junction Tigers vs. Monarch Coyotes        
        
		
        
        
            Grand Junction came into their game  on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  the Monarch Coyotes, falling  3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

 Despite the  loss, Grand Junction saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Haleigh Blaylock  had five  digs and five  aces. Those five  aces set a new season-high mark for  Blaylock.  Harper Young also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assists of the season.
  Maya Singh was the offensive standout of the  match as she  had ten  digs and two  assists.
Grand Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Monarch, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
 Coming up, Grand Junction will challenge Fruita Monument at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Monarch, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  victory against Arapahoe on the 11th.
