Softball Game Preview: Perry Meridian Falcons vs. Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars

The Perry Meridian Falcons will challenge the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Perry Meridian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Whiteland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Caitlin Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Macy Stroud was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Greenwood Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-4 to Edinburgh.

Grace Kahle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Elle Schnake was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Greenwood Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Perry Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
