Football Recap: Jay Mustangs vs. New Braunfels Unicorns

Jay and New Braunfels squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Jay had to settle for second. They were beaten by the New Braunfels Unicorns 56-16. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Unicorns are ranked 221st).

A big part of New Braunfels' victory came down to the chemistry between CLAYTON NAMKEN and his top target CAYDEN MILLS. NAMKEN threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt while MILLS picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jay's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for New Braunfels, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
