Hermon came out on top against Old Town on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Hawks won by a run and slipped past the Coyotes 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Coyotes last Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Sam Hopkins and Cam Morrison did most of the damage at the plate: Hopkins went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI, while Morrison got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, Hopkins is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Brayden Ladd, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Hermon and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Old Town, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Hermon will venture away from home to take on Caribou at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 2.5, the Vikings 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Old Town, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orono at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
