Basketball Recap: Mission Viejo Comes Up Short

Mission Viejo lost against Sage Hill back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mission Viejo Diablos took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sage Hill Lightning.

When it comes to explaining why Mission Viejo lost, don't look at Damian Navarro. Despite the final result, he posted 29 points. The matchup was Navarro's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madoc Pugh, who had eight points.

Mission Viejo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sage Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Mission Viejo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Margaret's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mission Viejo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season. As for Sage Hill, they will take on Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
