Basketball Recap: Lighthouse Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Lighthouse Prep Academy extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were dealt an 86-37 defeat at the hands of Liberty Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Lighthouse Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Liberty Christian Academy is ranked 248th).

Despite the loss, Lighthouse Prep Academy had strong showings from Jonas Boes, who posted ten points, and Noah Fowler, who had 12 points.

As for Liberty Christian Academy, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Phoenix Obermann produced another solid performance going 7-for-11 on his way to 20 points along with six assists and five boards. The game was his fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Tommy Meyer was another key player, shooting 55% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lighthouse Prep Academy will take on Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will square off against St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
