Softball Game Preview: Parsippany Redhawks vs. Madison Dodgers

Parsippany and Madison are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Redhawks will be playing at home against the Dodgers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Parsippany has four straight victories, Madison has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Parsippany came out on top against Lenape Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Redhawks walked away with a 7-3 win over the Patriots.

Lexi Zajac was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nicole Coughlin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Charlotte Inauen was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Parsippany hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Madison fell victim to Morris Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 15-0 to the Crusaders.

Madison now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Parsippany, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14-1.
