Baseball Recap: Beachside Barracudas vs. Providence School Stallions
Beachside won against Tocoi Creek on Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Barracudas had just enough and edged out the Providence School Stallions 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barracudas.
Christian Pate looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
On the hitting side, Gavin Nickel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since March 3rd.
Beachside's record is now 12-9. As for Providence School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beachside will welcome Fleming Island at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Barracudas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Providence School, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Ponte Vedra at 6:30 p.m.
