Penncrest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-56 W against the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Penncrest's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Marple Newtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
