Basketball Game Preview: Blair Broncos vs. Carnegie Wildcats

Last Friday, Blair earned a 46-39 win over Grandfield. The victory continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carnegie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They escaped with a win on Friday against Epic Charter by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Blair better keep an eye on Duane Cavaness. He was instrumental in Carnegie's win, going 7 for 11 to rack up 21 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Cavaness a new career-high in points. Jerin Thompson was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Carnegie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Carnegie is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Blair, they now also have a winning record of 11-10.
