Basketball Recap: Center Point Comes Up Short

Center Point lost against Shades Valley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Center Point Eagles were dealt a 69-29 defeat at the hands of the Shades Valley Mounties. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Mounties are ranked 74th).

Center Point dropped their record down to 2-17 with the loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shades Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Point has already played their next matchup (against Tarrant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shades Valley will square off against Paul W. Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Paul W. Bryant's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
