Soccer Recap: Elk Grove Triumphs

Elk Grove's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Laguna Creek Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The Thundering Herd's winning goal came courtesy of Noah Jang.

Elk Grove picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-9-4. As for Laguna Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Elk Grove and Laguna Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Elk Grove (ranked 676th) will meet Franklin (ranked ninth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Laguna Creek will square off against Sheldon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 737 places (898 vs. 161).
