Sumiton Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hubbertville on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sumiton Christian came up short against Hubbertville, falling 53-33.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Winston County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by Haleyville 54-27. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Winston County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maci Blevins posted two points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Blevins a new career-high in boards.

Sumiton Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Winston County, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
