Baseball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Goose Creek Gators

The Stratford Knights will face off against the Goose Creek Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Stratford's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home while Goose Creek has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Stratford fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Berkeley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Stags by a score of 6-5.

JQ Crosby was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jachin Davis, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Goose Creek lost 9-1 to Wando on Wednesday.

Stratford's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 16-4-2. As for Goose Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14-2.

Stratford was able to grind out a solid win over Goose Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
