Basketball Recap: Roncalli Takes a Loss

Roncalli was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Valders Vikings, falling 64-38. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Vikings are ranked 51st).

Roncalli's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Valders, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roncalli will be home for the holidays to greet Brillion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valders, they will host Cedar Grove-Belgium at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valders knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Cedar Grove-Belgium likes a good challenge.
