Recap: Trezevant Bears vs. Melrose Golden Wildcats
The Trezevant Bears entered their tilt with the Melrose Golden Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Trezevant had just enough and edged Melrose out 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Trezevant has posted since December 7, 2023.
SHELBY GRAY continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Trezevant's points. CIARA THOMAS was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Trezevant has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Melrose, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trezevant will square off against Crosstown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Crosstown comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Melrose, they will head out on the road to take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
